  1. The Book of Happiness is an enlightened manuscript made in the Ottoman Empire in 1582. It was commissioned by Sultan Murad III, who was in command of the empire between 1574 and 1595. The text was translated from Arabic and all miniatures seem to have been made under the direction of renowned master Ustad 'Osman, undisputed author of the initial series of images dedicated to the signs of Zodiac. 'Osman, who was in charge of the painters of the Seraglio workshop from 1570 onwards, established a style that influenced other artists of the court of Murad and stands out for its accuracy in portraits.
